Bentley Music Group Bhd (KL:BENTLEY) has teamed up with Juara Partners Sdn Bhd to provide financing plans aimed at widening access to musical instruments and music education, particularly for civil servants.
Under the collaboration, Juara Partners will act as the provider of shariah-compliant financing while Bentley Music’s wholly-owned unit Bentley Music Sdn Bhd will supply musical instruments and educational services through Bentley Music Academy outlets in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur.
Speaking at the memorandum of understanding signing ceremony on Friday, Bentley Music managing director Datuk Dr Ken Phua said the financing facility allows customers to begin with more affordable options before moving to higher-end instruments.
“They can start with a mid-range instrument — guitar, piano, keyboard and so on, before they go to a higher level,” he said.
Juara Partners director Datuk Kamari Zaman Juhari said the key objective of the partnership is to make music-related purchases more accessible through financing.
The initiative is targeted at Malaysia’s 1.6 million civil servants, although Bentley said the programme may eventually be expanded beyond this initial segment.
Phua noted that the collaboration could also benefit family members of civil servants, particularly children pursuing music education.
The repayment amount will depend on the type of product or lessons selected, as well as the applicant’s salary and financing eligibility.
“The amount they pay will depend on what they buy. There is a wide range of products and price points to choose from,” said Bentley Music executive director Lewis Hooper.
The company added that the collaboration may later be extended to retirees and government-linked company staff after the initial rollout.
Bentley Music, which was listed on Bursa Malaysia’s LEAP Market in February, last closed at 18 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of about RM45 million.
